We are proud to present the Handmade and Hand-Painted Tagine by Custo Mosaic. Made in their specialized workshop from high-quality ceramic, this large tagine pot can be used for both cooking and serving. Each item is handcrafted with a dedication to traditional artistic techniques, guaranteeing its one-of-a-kind beauty and appeal.
Custo Mosaic takes great pride in the fact that its products are made from only the highest quality materials, including lead-free ceramics. The exceptional quality of the handcrafted tagines is the result of a unique process. After the initial form has been established, the pots are fired in a kiln, which gives the ceramic a stunning sheen. Then, they're baked again for eight hours on burned wood to make them more long-lasting and practical for everyday use in the kitchen.
The extraordinary art of Zellige is used by Custo Mosaic. The intricate patterns on the tagines are the result of multiple firings. The distinctive quality of ceramic is developed during the first firing, called Zellige. After that, Nekkach takes over, and he painstakingly applies the hand-painted designs, which draw inspiration from historical sources like Karaouiyn and the lavish palaces of kings to each of the tagines. The careful geometric motif arrangement of these patterns results in a stunning work of art.
Custo Mosaic uses "La resin" or "cola sima" to seal and protect the hand-painted designs, ensuring that they retain their beauty and durability for years to come. This method ensures that the designs won't fade or peel, even after repeated washings in hot and cold water.
Each Custo Mosaic Handmade and Hand-Painted Tagine has its own unique story to tell about the talented artists who created it and the storied history of Fes. From the careful molding of the clay to the painstaking painting of the Zellige patterns, it is clear that a great deal of time and effort was invested in each and every one of these creations.
Custo Mosaic's Handmade and Hand-Painted Tagine is a masterpiece of culinary tradition and decorative art. This tagine pot will enhance your dining experience and transport you to the vibrant world of Moroccan craftsmanship whether you use it for cooking delectable dishes or as a stunning centerpiece for your table.
